Eangee Home Design opened its doors in November 2003 to offer high quality, fair trade, green products for lighting and decorating the home. Eangee is dedicated to the value of sustainability: meeting the needs of today without compromising a better tomorrow. For Eangee, this especially means doing its part to combat global climate change by constantly working toward the goal of having a zero-carbon footprint.
The Eangee lamps highlight the use of renewable materials in aesthetic designs. Made from natural resources like cocoa leaves, abaca rope, nito vine, and durian fruit fiber, the shades are held up by strong bamboo frames. Eangee Home Design continuously seeks out better materials and methods for its products, and is a registered member in good standing with the Sustainable Furniture Council.
Eangee is also proud to support standards that are designed to tackle poverty and empower producers in the poorest countries in the world. The company's Fair Trade offerings are verified during multiple site trips to visit the artisans who make Eangee products. These local craftsmen are provided with free room and board so that more of their wages can be used to support their families.
